Human Resources Coordinator

Currently we are seeking a Human Resources Coordinator that will be responsible for assisting the HR department in carrying out various HR programs and procedures for all employees.  The HR Coordinator’s main focus will be on data entry, filing and benefits administration.

Essential Functions

  • Administer health and welfare benefit eligibility and benefit deductions for all active employees for the group plans; medical, dental, vision, life, flex spending accounts.
  • Data entry all HR transactions (new hires, terminations, job changes, etc) into our HR database.
  • Respond to employee questions in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Schedule, coordinate and deliver new hire benefits orientation.
  • Conducts audits of various benefits or other HR programs and recommends any corrective action.
  • Responsible for all personnel, confidential and I-9 filing.
  • Process, verify, and maintain personnel related documentation; including but not limited to recruitment, training, performance evaluations, classifications, and employee leaves of absence.

Additional Duties

  • Assist Director of HR with various research projects and/or special projects.
  • Back up the HR team and assist in recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt personnel and help to coordinate the use of temporary employees.
  • Perform clerical functions as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have excellent customer service skills and enjoy interacting with others.
  • Knowledge of fundamental human resources practices and office administration procedures.
  • Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, specifically MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Must be familiar with applicable state and federal employment laws as they relate to record keeping and HR practices.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Must be dependable, accountable and able to meet established deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field or equivalent years of experience
  • One to three years of experience in the HR field preferred, relevant internship will be taken into consideration
  • Experience working in a HRIS or ERP database preferred
  • Previous Manufacturing environment preferred

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

  • Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
  • The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and communicate with others.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
